I have been thinking about why one would use Twitter. As I understand it (and I have not used it, as will become obvious) you just post a sentence about what you are doing. So why would one make such information public? At first it struck like that moment in the film Arthur, where he tells his butler that he wants to bathe and his butler blandly replies, "I'll alert the media." I mean, self-absorbed to a degree.
